Frederick Jones
About
Frederick Jones, MSW is the Director of sa国际传媒官网网页入口's sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Corps grant. A Compton, CA native, he relocated to the Inland Empire in his teens and graduated from Perris High soon after. Jones began his education journey at sa国际传媒官网网页入口, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the campus newspaper.
Jones received a master鈥檚 in social work from the University of Southern California, where he served as co-chair of the Black Caucus. He previously served at San Bernardino Valley sa国际传媒官网网页入口鈥檚 as coordinator and adjunct counselor for the Umoja-Tumaini Academy, an effort he created and that focuses on the academic success for students in STEM, Certificates, and associate degrees. He also spent two years as SBVC's sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Corps program specialist, during which he developed a sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Corps/Umoja host site to serve student volunteers on campus ranging from Umoja students to Dreamers.
Jones has won multiple awards for his advocacy for students and efforts in closing gaps within higher education, including Outstanding Community Leader from Rotaract鈥檚 Inland Empire District.
