Paying for college just got easier than ever

Scholarships are financial aid awards designed to help you pay for your education. Scholarships can be a one-time award or renewable and may require that certain academic or demographic qualifications be met. Below is a collection of scholarships available directly to MVC students.

Scholarship Program

The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) is now accepting applications for the Cal HBCU Program.  The Cal-HBCU Program awards up to $5,000 to participating students who transfer from California Community sa国际传媒官网网页入口s (CCC) to eligible, partnered Historically Black sa国际传媒官网网页入口s and Universities (HBCUs) and intend to return to California after graduation.  To be eligible for the Cal-HBCU Program, a student must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Be a California Community sa国际传媒官网网页入口 student who has earned an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT)
  • Enroll (or plan to enroll) at an eligible HBCU
  • Demonstrate unmet financial need
  • Intend to return to California after graduating from the Partnered HBCU

Savings and Grant Program

Recent graduates of a California public high school may be eligible to receive $500 to $1500 for use towards education expenses. The California Kids Investment and Development Savings Program (CalKIDS), funded by the State of California, is providing eligible students with these funds to promote a college going culture. Eligible student participants may receive awards to use for higher education including $500 automatic deposits in a CalKIDS account for eligible low-income public school students, students identified as foster youth, and students identified as homeless. Deposits may be cumulative for students meeting multiple eligibility requirements.

One-Time Scholarship

The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is a highly selective scholarship for the nation鈥檚 top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor鈥檚 degrees at four-year colleges or universities. Each Cooke Scholar has access to generous financial support for two to three years, college planning support, ongoing advising, and the opportunity to connect with the thriving community of fellow Scholars.

One-Time Scholarship

The Cooke sa国际传媒官网网页入口 Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation鈥檚 best four-year colleges and universities. The Foundation provides up to $55,000 per year, college planning support, and ongoing advising.

One-Time Scholarship

The Foundation for California Community sa国际传媒官网网页入口s (FoundationCCC) is pleased to announce the availability of the Keenan Insurance scholarship opportunity for CCC students. The Keenan Insurance Scholarship seeks to increase the diversity of professionals working within the insurance, risk management, and financial services industry by providing scholarships to underrepresented students at California Community sa国际传媒官网网页入口s. One-Time Scholarship

Last Mile invests in the next generation of technology talent and therefore, offers financial assistance to unrepresented students majoring in tech and engineering. Emergency grants up to $599 are typically awarded within a few days. Larger grants (up to $10K) are awarded to students who demonstrate a high degree of need.

The Foundation for California Community sa国际传媒官网网页入口s offers Real Estate Education scholarships available for students who need financial assistance to help afford enrollment costs in community college real estate education programs. Funds are distributed on a first-come-first served basis, so visit the website and apply now.

The Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. Recipients have the potential to receive $1,000 to $16,000 to further their education.
