Several CalWORKs students from sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÍøÒ³Èë¿Ú were honored at the Soroptimist International of Moreno Valley’s Live Your Dream Awards breakfast, which recognizes the achievements of women working to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects.

sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÍøÒ³Èë¿Ú MESA Scholar Luciano Ponce has been selected for a highly competitive Student Independent Research Intern position at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Ponce was also honored with the MMVC President’s Award at the 17th Annual RCCD Student Research Conference.

Students, along with classified professionals, attended the sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÍøÒ³Èë¿Ú Expo sponsored by Growing Inland Achievement and the National sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÍøÒ³Èë¿Ú Resources Foundation to connect with representatives from more than 30 colleges and explore academic programs, transfer pathways, and scholarship opportunities.

sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÍøÒ³Èë¿Ú (MVC) will host the 12th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Award Ceremony to celebrate the outstanding achievements of local high school and MVC students while highlighting the legacy of a beloved Moreno Valley educator, Professor James Banks.

MVC students embraced civic engagement for the 2024 election season, leading voter education efforts on local ballot measures like Measure CC by going door-to-door across Moreno Valley and hosting on-campus events to spread the word about voting to peers and community members alike.
